ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) – A car fire in the popular Central West end neighborhood sent some Thursday night diners out of their favorite restaurants to take a look.

The car was parked in a pay lot located near Maryland and Euclid.  The Ford Mustang was parked on the West end of the lot behind Sub Zero Vodka Bar.  Other restaurants located on that corner include Lester`s and Culpeppers.

Witnesses said flames were shooting several feet into the air before the fire was put out.  A number of people wondered why one car appeared to be targeted but the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said it was too soon in their investigation to release any details.

The fire did enough damage to the car to burn off paint in some areas.
