Police investigating death of 4-year-old in Dupo

DUPO, IL (KTVI) - Dupo Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 4-year-old girl who died on Sunday at her mother`s home in the 100 block of North 9th Street.

Police received a 911 call for a child unconscious and not breathing at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Family members identify the child as Emily Perrin, who would have turned five on Monday.

Police officers and EMTs tried to resuscitate Emily at the house and on the way to St. Anthony's hospital, but she died.

Family members say Emily lived with her mother and her eight year old brother, plus an adult male roommate. The family says he was not at home when the trouble began.

They also say Emily had Cystic Fibrosis.

Police will say only that they have taken a person of interest into custody pending formal charges.
