17 shell casings found near double shooting in north St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Police are investigating a double shooting Friday morning in north St. Louis. It happened around 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Vandeventer Avenue and Garfield. At least seventeen shell casings were found at the scene.

Investigators say two males, in their 30's or 40's, were standing on the street when they were approached by the suspect. He left the area and returned a short time later and shot both men multiple times. Both victim's were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

One man's injuries are considered life-threatening.

Police believe all three men were involved in a previous altercation and the shooting was not random.

The suspect is at large.
