ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – A St. Louis police officer is facing a misdemeanor DWI charge. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Jeffrey Trares Wednesday.

Prosecutors say he was driving drunk the morning of April 7th and crashed his car into a parked fire department vehicle on McCausland at Hillsland Avenue.

His car stopped in a nearby yard.

Police say they found Trares unconscious behind the wheel, with the engine running.

Prosecutors say his blood alcohol content was point-146, nearly twice the legal limit.
