Police pursuit ends in crash on I-70

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - A police pursuit that originated in Woodson Terrace ends in a crash involving 2 vehicles.

The pursuit started in Woodson Terrace for traffic stop and quickly escalated into a chase.  A black vehicle sped off from the traffic stop towards St. Louis City.  Once in the city, the vehicle exited I-70 and got back on I-70 heading in the wrong direction going westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-70.

That vehicle then crashed into a white vehicle near Goodfellow.

The resulting accident caused both directions of I-70 to be shutdown.

A St. Louis Fire Department official says 4 persons were injured in the accident.  An adult male was extricated from the black vehicle, along with 2 children.  All have been transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.   A pregnant female was also extricated at the scene from the second vehicle involved in the accident.  She’s listed in serious condition and has been transported to the hospital.

The interstate is still shutdown at this hour with St. Louis police investigation the accident.
