Police serving arrest warrant find dead baby in home

Newnan, GA (WGCL) — Police serving an arrest warrant in Coweta County led to a disturbing discovery Saturday afternoon.

A 2-month-old baby girl was found unresponsive inside of the home in Newnan.

Police were serving the warrant at a home on the 800 block of Smokey Road. Authorities were making an arrest when they discovered the child was not breathing.

CBS46 News spoke with the mother of the victim and she said she does not know how the baby could have died.

Police have not released many details regarding the incident. We’re expected to learn more about the incident on Monday.
