Police now believe that the triple-shooting on Itaska and is connected to a shooting in an alley of the 4200 block of S. 37th, near Grace Avenue. In that shooting, an unidentified 54-year-old woman was found with a gunshot wound to the head. Neighbors said they heard gunshots around 3:30pm, but didn’t call police. The victim was discovered a little while later. St. Louis police say she is the mother of Paige Schaefer, the victim from the Itaska shooting.  She is in critical/unstable condition at an area hospital.

Police believe the same suspect is involved. The investigation is ongoing.
