Police watching home in St. Charles County after shots fired at party

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. _Shots are fired inside a St. Charles County home after a night of partying ends with violence including a man hitting his girlfriend. It all happened at a home on Hunting Creek Road.

St. Charles County police responded but were not able to make contact with the man. Police say two men live at the home. The girlfriend of one of the men came over and all three went out drinking Thursday night.

When they got back, police say the boyfriend and girlfriend got into an argument and the man hit the woman. Investigators say her face was full of blood but she did not go to the hospital.

Authorities day the 32-year-old man fired shots from a handgun but nobody was hit. The girlfriend left the home with the man`s roommate.

That`s when they called St. Charles County police. Police believe they were not able to contact the man because he was asleep.

Authorities waited for a while at the home in case he came out but then left.

There was some concern because the man had at least one maybe two guns in the home.

Police plan to come back later and take the man into custody. He could be facing assault and weapons charges.
