(KTVI)- Operation Clean Stream is one of the country’s largest and longest running river restoration projects.  Organized by the Open Space Council, it is held the fourth weekend of every August.

Volunteers will walk and boat along the Meramec River and its tributaries clearing flooding debris and all other trash.

Most volunteers will meet at Greentree Park in Kirkwood and be assigned a cleanup site. Some sites are within walking distance, others are a very short drive away.  There is no minimum age requirement for participation,  but children under 18 need adult supervision.
