ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Rams fans and Michael Brown protesters clashed after Sunday’s game at the Edward Jones Dome.

Several punches were thrown and one fan got a face full of spit.

Amateur video was posted to our FOX 2 Facebook page of a female protester spitting on the face of a Rams fan. She was quickly arrested around 3 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and Cole.

Our partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch shot video of another female protester punching a Rams fan in the face. At least two Rams fan were hit in the face during a big fight. They are expected to be okay.

At this point there no word on any protesters that were hurt, but the two taken into custody were charged with assault.

The upside down American flag protesters were waving played a role in the clash. Protesters say it’s a signal of an America in distress, but a few fans didn’t like the display. They tried to snatch the flag from the protesters.

The protesters remain upset about the Michael Brown shooting death and racism they say exists in this country. Many had signs calling for the Ferguson police officer, who shot brown to death, to be indicted.

A grand jury is still considering charges.

In all, about 25 people were involved in the confrontation outside of the Dome.
