ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – St. Louis police arrested a man suspected of breaking into an apartment earlier this month and raping the tenant.
According to Leah Freeman, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place September 10 just after 1:45 a.m. on N. Boyle.
The victim told police she was asleep in her bedroom when a person entered her residence through a first floor window. The suspect came to the woman’s bedroom, implied he had a weapon, and then sexually assaulted her.
Investigators eventually arrested Jared Hurst on two counts of first-degree rape/attempted rape, kidnapping, first-degree sodomy/attempted sodomy, first-degree burglary, and theft under $500.
Hurst is being held without bond.
