SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) _ Gov. Bruce Rauner has announced several appointments to the board of trustees at three colleges in Illinois.

John Gilbert, Joel Sambursky and Amy Sholar have been chosen to serve on the board of trustees at Southern Illinois University. Gilbert and Sambursky reside in Carbondale, where the school is located, while Sholar lives in Alton.

Timothy Burke of Evanston was selected to become a member of Eastern Illinois University’s Board of Trustees. He graduated from the school in Charleston, and currently is a member of its Foundation Board of Trustees.

The Rev. Dr. Marshall Hatch will join the board of trustees at Chicago State University. He’s been the pastor of the New Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church on Chicago’s West Side since 1993.
