(KTVI)-Talk about a dead end. The Missouri Department of Conservation shared this photo on Facebook Monday. Last week, a homeowner called the St. Louis office to report a pile of ringed salamanders trapped in an outside stairway.

The MDC says that in the Autumn months the creatures travel by night to fishless woodland ponds for breeding. These salamanders were relocated to a nearby pond.
