ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) – A robber is on the run after police in St. Charles say he stole money from a gas station cash register.

It happened Friday evening at the Moto Mart on South Fifth Street.  Police say the suspect came into the gas station and asked the clerk for cigars.

When the clerk rang up the sale, the suspect lunged over the counter, pushed the clerk out of his way and took an unknown amount of money from the register.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid to early 30s.    He was wearing a camouflag round brimmed “boonie cap” pulled over his face with a blue hooded jacket and black athletic pants with white stripes.   Authorities say he was about 6 feet tall with a medium build.

Anyone with information should contact the St. Charles Police Department at 636-949-3309.
