ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – After nearly a month of voting, the Saint Louis Zoo was chosen as the top free attraction in the United States as part of USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards Program.
Visitors to the USA Today 10Best website picked the Saint Louis Zoo ahead of 19 other attractions on a list compiled by travel experts.
Other popular attractions on the list included:
- Central Park in New York City
- Balboa Park in San Diego
- Millennium Park in Chicago
- The Alamo in San Antonio, Texas
- The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California
Approximately 3.2 million people visit the Saint Louis Zoo annually. The zoo has been free to the public since its opening in 1910.
