IMPERIAL, MO (KTVI) -  A possible senior prank at Seckman High School could turn out to be much more serious for whoever is behind it.

Vandals targeted the school in Imperial with spray paint and graffiti.

A custodian who arrived early Tuesday morning found graffiti spray painted in many areas.
Much of the graffiti said 'Fox 2013.' But a lot of it also had profanity.

"I don`t even know what people are thinking when they do this kind of stuff," said Tim Crutchley, the Assistant Superintendent for the Fox C-6 School District.

Crutchley says what makes him the most upset is that the vandals spray painted on a new, expensive turf football and baseball field that were both funded by a recent bond issue.

"This sports facility has been open maybe a month at the most and to have something like this happen is pretty frustrating to say the least," explained Crutchley.

The vandals also hit school building walls and doors, two food service trucks, a scoreboard, a baseball dugout, announcing booths and a storage area.

Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff`s Office believe it happened around 11pm on Monday night.

They are reviewing surveillance video at the school to see if it could help track down suspects.

We saw one deputy carry out what appeared to be evidence bags. Authorities say they are investigating the case as a senior prank.

But Seckman high principal Don Grimshaw isn`t laughing.

"There`s never a really good senior prank. They always get out of hand and someone always gets in serious trouble, someone always takes it a step too far, and then there`s consequences that those people have to pay," explained Grimshaw.

Crutchley added, "We`ll do whatever it takes to find out who did this."

After hours of cleaning, workers were able to remove all of the spray paint.

Officials don`t believe at this point there was any permanent damage to the new fields.
There are no suspects in custody.
