ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The Loop Trolley project took another step forward today with a very special delivery. The second of the first three trolley cars arrived at the Loop Trolley headquarters on Del Mar from Iowa where it was rehabbed.

The blue and cream car was brought in on a flatbed then meticulously taken off and moved in to the headquarters. Like the first car that arrived in mid-February, this one will be tested in the headquarters facility then it will be tested on the actual track .

Joe Edwards, the creator of the Loop Trolley, is thrilled to have another trolley car in St. Louis. “Having a second car come makes it even more real. It`s a fleet-now it`s a fleet with two! With one it was just ok but now it`s a fleet of two. And when the third one comes in May or June then that will complete the three that we need to start the project this coming summer,” said Edwards.

Similar to the first car, about 80 people can fit onto the second car. The third car will hold about 100 people.

Edwards hopes to have the trolley up and running by the end of the summer.
