ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- This Memorial Day weekend, you can catch a little Shakespeare in the Park and even do yoga under the arch.
Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, but with the gorgeous weather and Shakespeare Festival in Forest Park, it`s definitely feeling like it.
Shakespearean actors perform in front of thousands, kicking back with some culture. This year`s play is the 'Twelfth Night.'
While theatre-goers enjoy this Shakespearean havoc, music lovers were grooving' to the blues at downtown St. Louis`s Bluesweek Festival. Another Memorial Day favorite is of course, barbecue. And the Blues Week festival`s got plenty. But after all those ribs, a little bit of exercise never hurts.
How about some sun salutations while gazing up at the arch? Every Saturday morning at 9, there are now free, and public, yoga classes on the arch grounds.
For dancer Felise Bagley, in town for the dance festival, this unique outdoor yoga sounds awesome.
Like yoga, which doesn`t end until September, many of these outdoor activities are just beginning. It’s ime to bask it in, along with all that sunshine.
Each of these events I just mentioned is absolutely free to the public.
And there are so many other great things happening this weekend, from the Senior PGA Championship and Missouri River Irish Fest to the Memorial Day service at the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery.
