(KTVI) – How young is too young to work? Not 12.  The governor of Maine says children as young as 12 years old should be allowed to work.

Gov. Paul LePage told the Portland Press Herald that Main isn’t using one of its most valuable resources – youth.

According to FOX 8 Cleveland, LePage told the paper, “There is nothing wrong with being a paperboy at 12 years old, or at a store sorting bottles at 12 years old.”

Students in Maine who want to work before age 16 must have a permit from the school and meet other requirements.   Read more at Portland Press Herald.
