(KTVI)-Six Flags St. Louis is reaching out to help KidSmart. The amusement park will hold its fifth annual Back To School Supply Drive starting this week. Each year more than 90,000 St. Louis area students do not have basic school supplies they need due to a lack of financial resources.

Guests who bring five or more of the specified school supplies to Six Flags’ front gate will receive a one-day ticket at half price. The items are from KidSmart Top 5 “Most Needed Items” list and include paper, pencils, crayons, markers, and glue.

The back to school supply drive runs August 4-8 and again August 11-12.

KidSmart will distribute the supplies through teachers from qualifying schools who shop at the KidSmart Free Store once a month. Since opening in 2002, KidSmart has distributed nearly $32 million in free school supplies and donations to St. Louis, St. Louis County and rural area students in need.
