ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Another ban on the very popular hoverboard – this time at Saint Louis University.

SLU issued a statement Friday prohibiting the hoverboards on both its campuses in St. Louis and Madrid, Spain until uniform safety standards have been adequately developed.

The university cited instances where batteries in the boards burst into flames while charging.

SLU’s Department of Risk Management is asking students with hoverboards on campus to store them at their homes.
