DES PERES, MO (KTVI) - Making a community more walk-able and better for cyclists is drawing some opposition. You may think a new walking and biking plan for a community would be a welcome idea. But not this one.

Some residents in Des Peres don`t like all 72 pages of the new idea. Trailnet has a plan that would link neighborhoods for pedestrians and cyclists. The company's mission is to foster healthy, active and vibrant communities where walking, bicycling and the use of public transit are a way life. The plan includes a bridge over Interstate 270 at a cost of just over $11 million.

Some people are against the different features of the proposal.

Our partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch heard from citizens who say they purchased homes in local neighborhoods for peace and quite. One homeowner fears it could attract criminals to her streets.

Everyone can voice their opinions Monday evening at city hall. The meeting starts at 7p.m.
