(CNN) – Space shuttle “Discovery” has landed, but not at the Kennedy space station.  The retired shuttle is now at Washington Dulles International Airport outside of D.C.  The shuttle arrived on the back of a modified jumbo jet.

On Thursday, Discovery will be towed to the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum annex near the airport. It’s the first of NASA’s retired shuttle fleet to be put into a museum.
