ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - Strong thunderstorms have been "pulsing" this afternoon in clusters. The main threat into early evening will be spotty downpours, gusty winds to 40mph and small hail. These thunderstorms are a result of a stream of Gulf moisture and daytime heating with highs of 85-90 degrees.
The isolated thunderstorms should fade about sunset. Tuesday and Wednesday will have the same weather set-up and result in more scattered thundershowers and humid conditions. The weather pattern settles and cools a bit toward late week.
