ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – St. Ann Police say a man wanted in connection with several strong armed robberies in St. Louis City is now in custody after leading police on a high speed chase.
Investigators say the incident all unfolded this morning as a traffic stop. St. Ann Police say the suspect was wanted for speeding for going 80mph down I-70. Police pursued the vehicle
After the suspect lost control of his vehicle he crashed into a pole where he bailed on foot. Police say the suspect was driving a stolen vehicle.
“During the course of the investigation we found that this car was stolen. The plates came back to another vehicle. Inside the car was a stolen pistol in the car.” said Chief Aaron Jimenez.
Police say they also found in the car a mask and a brick. These are items normally used to steal cars. Police will process the vehicle to determine what evidence they have against the suspect.
