O’FALLON, MO (KTVI) – A long-serving police dog died suddenly as a result of a tumor, the St. Charles County Police Department said Friday.
The dog, named Bodo, had a fast-growing tumor in his bladder. He passed away Tuesday, September 8. Bodo was 9.
Bodo joined the police department in 2007. He worked in patrol and loved working with young children, according to a department spokeswoman. When calls were dispatched to his handler, Bodo would respond into the officer’s radio microphone.
There are four other K9s working with St. Charles County police officers.
