ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) – About 4,000 people were out of power in St. Charles after someone broke into a power substation.
Police tell FOX 2 that a 26-year-old woman entered the substation in the 3800 block of Huster road. She grabbed a live wire in an attempt to take her own life. She survived the electrocution and was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
The woman is not an Ameren Missouri employee or contractor. Ameren says that power has been restored to the area. Power was out to Ameren customers in St. Charles for over two hours.
