ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– A proposal that’s supposed to stiffen ethics a requirement in politics has gotten gummed up in politics a St. Louis City Hall.
A financial disclosure bill pushed by Mayor Francis Slay was introduced with little notice at Friday’s board of aldermen meeting.
It would require all elected city officials to submit financial disclosure forms. Right now, only the mayor and the city’s supply commissioner are required to do so. The mayor’s opponents though, some suspect a political motive in this last-minute disclosure bill.
Critics of the mayor say the disclosure bill unveiled doesn’t go far enough.
