KIRKWOOD, MO (KTVI) – Student journalists at the Meramec campus of St. Louis Community College are criticizing the college administration for, “leaving students in the dark” over an assault on campus April 18th.

A female student was attacked in a women’s restroom allegedly by another student. A faculty member heard her screams and managed to hold the suspect as she called for police. But, the campus community was not notified about the crime for five days.

18-year old Jevon Mallory is now under arrest for a felony assault and is being held on a $25,000 cash only bond.

Wednesday’s editorial in the student paper, The Montage, said losing the campus President George Wasson to resignation was moving “in the wrong direction.”
