CLAYTON, MO (KTVI) – A “State of Emergency” has been declared for St. Louis County after record rainfall hits the area. More precipitation is expected with the possibility of flash flooding. This could cause property damage and has the potential to put lives in danger.

St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger’s office says the emergency declaration allows for quick and easy coordination with the state of Missouri for resources if conditions worsen. The county’s Emergency Operations Center also has been activated.
