ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) - Park rangers are having a hard time keeping "Pokémon Go" players out of parks at night so the came up with the idea to organize a "Poke Prowl," as Jefferson Barracks Park stayed open until 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
Parks are a hot spot for "Pokémon Go" players, but all St. Louis County parks close a half hour after sunset. The chief park ranger said that they have had hundreds of people a night sneaking into parks after hours.
That’s why they came up with the idea to host a late night prowl.
During the prowl they had extra park rangers on duty and the park pavilion stayed open for people to use the restrooms and charge their phones. Food trucks were also a park of the Poke Prowl.
The chief park ranger hopes that if they have a few of these late night prowls it will deter some people from trying to sneak into the parks.
