St. Louis County Police Department clears 94% of homicide cases from 2019


ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The Crimes Against Persons Unit of the St. Louis County Police Department reports a homicide clearance rate of 94% in 2019. They investigate homicides, robberies, abuse and sexual assault cases.

The County had a total of 65 homicides in 2019. The unit cleared 61 of the 65 homicides for a clearance rate of 93.8%. 

The high rate is unprecedented compared to the national average of 61%.
