ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- St. Louis Post-Dispatch sports columnist Joe Strauss died early Sunday from complications related to leukemia. He was 54. Before becoming a sports columnist at the newspaper in 2012, Strauss spent nearly three decades covering baseball for the Baltimore Orioles, the Atlanta Braves, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
He received multiple national awards for his baseball writing. Strauss was also often a guest on FOX 2’s Sports Final.
He is survived by his wife and daughter. Services are pending.
Praying for the family of Joe Strauss during this time. I admired his persistence and passion that were always on display through his work.

It was a Joe Strauss quote from Bryan Burwell's funeral that rings true "he came here as a colleague, became a friend, and leaves as family"

Not enough space for full Strauss tribute. He was always in my corner, from my time as P-D intern, to return. I'll miss the hell out of him.
