ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - On Saturday St. Louis Public Schools hosted a teacher’s job fair at Vashon High School. Recruits from across the country and nearby colleges showed up for one hour on site interviews set up in advance to help make the process smoother. Organizers say they`ve been holding the recruitment event for years but are starting efforts earlier to make sure they have new and qualified teachers in place for the spring 2015-2016 school year.
Officials say they need music, art, math, science, chemistry and elementary teachers.
Applicants were also encouraged to interact with students, parents and other teachers on site. There was a series of basketball games and a food truck at the school to give potential teachers a feel for the districts culture. Officials say if you missed Saturday’s event you can apply online on the districts website.
