ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Drag racing leads to a violent wreck in north St. Louis. The crash happened in the the 7400 block of Hall street. We believe the cars were using the northbound and southbound lanes to drag race.
The crash happened seconds after our camera captured exclusive video of the cars traveling well above the speed limit. You can see the shattered windows and twisted metal the crash caused. First responders arrived at the scene around 2:30am Monday and began removing victims from the mangled cars. At least three cars were involved in the wreck. At this point it`s unclear if all of them were the same cars we saw speeding on Hall street.
A woman who knows one of the victims came to the scene of the crash. she was beyond emotional when she saw the wreck.
St. Louis Police say at least two people were taken to an area hospital. They are in very serious condition.
Police say this is still on ongoing investigation. They are still considering bringing an accident reconstruction team to this scene.
