LOUIS – The heat is not stopping St. Louisans from the grand opening of the St. Louis Wheel at Union Station. The 200-foot tall attraction was supposed to be open for business starting October 1. According to officials, the opening date will take place one day sooner, on September 30, 2019. Even in the heat, the gondolas allow for the perfect atmosphere to view the city. “All 42 gondolas are completely enclosed. They are climate-controlled; so heated in the winter, cooled in the summer. So you can come out and enjoy looking at St. Louis through all the different seasons all year round,” said Karyn Wilder, general manager of the St. Louis Wheel. The 15-minute ride will take you to new heights at Union Station to enjoy the evolving landscape of St. Louis from a new perspective. And if heights aren’t your thing, you can always cool off with lunch and a milkshake at the Union Station Soda Fountain. A carousel and 18-hole mini-golf course also opened to the public. The St. Louis Wheel will operate year from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults (ages 13+) and $10 for children (ages 3-12).
