ST. PETERS, MO (KTVI)-- St. Peters police have busted an alleged car theft ring. The situation started to unfold Friday morning when the security company for ABC Supply Company Inc. contacted Ryan Mooney, a delivery service manager telling him a surveillance camera had captured a suspicious man on the premises.

"At 1:30 in the morning nobody has any reason to be here. So I told them to dispatch the cops," said Mooney.

When officers arrived at ABC Supply Company they ran a check on the vehicle and discovered it had been stolen from Mid-Rivers Chrysler Jeep & Dodge a couple days prior. Realizing that, they went next door to the Lou Fusz Chevy Dealership and found five alleged car thieves inside the business. "They were trying to find the keys for the cars on the lot," said Office Melissa Doss.

Police arrested 17-year-old Marcus Neal, 17-year-old Darion Grey, 18-year-old Anton Bolden, 22-year-old Noah Smith and a 16-year-old juvenile. They believe the group broke the windows at the Mid-Rivers Chrysler Jeep & Dodge a couple of days before and stole five new vehicles. Police credit Mooney and the security company for helping to bust the alleged car theft ring. "Had they waited a couple minutes, we may not have caught these individuals," said Doss.

It's praise well deserved. "Turned out to be a neat thing," said Mooney.

The men are facing burglary charges. Bail is set at$25,000 each. Police are checking to find out whether they are connected to at least one other vehicle theft case.
