HAZLEWOOD, MO (KTVI) – The Hazelwood School District held students on campus at the high school to keep them safe from the storm. They stopped all 133 of their school buses while the storm was at its peak earlier Tuesday. The district also posted pictures of the buses online. FOX 2 spoke to school officials who say they had a 30 minute delay at the high school and that lasted until just after 3 pm. The delay created a trickledown effect at the middle and elementary schools. Alerts from the district went out to parents via social media and robo calls. Officials say when the weather eased up students were quickly released to their buses and parents. There are more than 18,000 kids in the district.
