ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Students at Parkway South High School have set a new Guinness world record. The record will also help a good cause.

“About two months ago my students and I visited a local food pantry called Circle of Concern. While we were there we were able to interview them on what their needs were as a pantry in our community. They also informed us that personal hygiene products were not covered under government assistant programs. Which left us at breaking the Guinness book of world records.” said teacher Joe Rhodes.

Juniors and seniors at Parkway South High School came up the idea to break the Guinness world record by collecting 1,800 tubes of toothpaste from donations.  This beat the old record by 112 tubes.

“We wanted to raise awareness for Circle of Concern and build the longest line of toothpaste.” said senior Jayvonn Wade.
