ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged a 31-year-old local man for allegedly breaking into a Moline Acres woman’s home earlier this month and killing her.
According to Officer Shawn McGuire, a spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department, the Moline Acres Police Department received a phone call around midnight on February 5. The caller was requesting a welfare check on his girlfriend, Tami Allen, at her home in the 9800 block of Wendell.
The boyfriend said Allen texted him and said someone was inside her home and that she couldn’t talk.
Police went to Allen’s home and found her in the living room of her residence with several stab wounds. Allen was rushed to a local hospital where she later died. She was 32.
Investigators eventually apprehended a suspect, identified as Kevin Fields. Detectives said Fields broke into the home through the backdoor and killed Allen via blunt force trauma and stabbing. He also stole the victim’s wallet and cellphone.
Fields was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, and armed criminal action. He remains jailed without bond.
