ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Police are looking for a man they say robbed a south St. Louis convenience store and held the clerk at knifepoint early Monday morning.

It was a scary night for the clerk, who St. Louis Police say was alone in the store at the time.  The call for help came in around 1:30 a.m.  They caller said someone pointed a knife at an employee at a Circle K Phillips 66 gas station on Fyler Avenue and Jamieson Avenue.  The suspect apparently demanded an unspecified amount of money.

The clerk is fine, and police believe the suspect was acting alone.

Investigators said they are looking for a Caucasian male, about 5’10” to 6’ tall and 150-170 pounds.  He appeared to be in his late 20s and was wearing a dark blue letterman jacket, dark cargo shorts and black shoes.  Police say the suspect also had a white mesh bag over his face.  That suspect got away in an unidentified car.

If you know anything about this incident, you are asked to call St. Louis Police or 911 immediately, or Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
