ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The Lindbergh school district has fired a suspended teacher, accused of sexual misconduct with a student.

Former Lindbergh high track coach James Wilder was charged with having sex with a 16 year old female student in 1996 and 1997. The victim came forward with the accusations in 2013 and Wilder was placed on administrative leave with pay.

St. Louis County Police charged him with the sex crimes but later the charges were dropped after the victim died.

However, the Lindbergh school board reviewed the evidence and voted on May 5th to terminate the contract with Wilder. The agreement prohibits him from ever going to a Lindbergh campus again and prevents from suing the district in the future.
