ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- A teenage boy is in custody after a police chase Thursday morning. It started after 9a.m. in the City of St. Louis.

The 14-year-old stole his mother's car, crashed into a building and struck three police vehicles in west St. Louis County.

After striking a house, an officer with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department saw the silver Chevrolet Impala and attempted to stop it. However, the teen would not pull over and ultimately traveled outside of city limits.

He lead the North County Police Cooperative, Normandy and St. Ann police on a chase.  While trying to get away, the teen struck three police cars from St. Ann, Normandy and Maryland Heights. He also hit a vehicle on Dorsett Road, injuring the driver.

The teen continued along Dorsett, crashed at Marine Avenue and fled on foot into a nearby park. Police finally caught him after running for nearly a mile.

He was transported back to St. Louis City to face charges.

He told police that he was trying to get to his grandmother's house.
