ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – More than 1,500 teenagers from the region gathered Wednesday at Chaifetz Arena for a youth rally. The students declared a war on teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and violence.

The rally was organized by Better Family Life. Teens watched performances with positive themes aimed at helping them grow into successful adults.

There were several guest speakers including East St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks, Junior.

Organizers say the rally is just part of what they are doing to improve the lives of young people in our region. Normandy, Jennings and East St. Louis schools were among the schools that participated in today`s rally.
