CLAYTON, MO (KTVI) -At Washington University in West St. Louis, Missouri, students are preparing for the ThurtenE Carnival. It is the oldest and largest student-run carnival in the United States.
Organizers are working around the clock and fighting rainstorms to make sure the carnival opens on-time Friday. Hundreds of students worked on building attractions, until the rain hit. When it stopped, they went right back to work.
For 2012, the carnival was themed 'Around the World in ThurtenE Days'. Guests could enjoy carnival rides, games; even theatre skits all weekend long.
The fun will go through Sunday here at Skinker and Brookings Avenue, just south of Forest Park Parkway.
