CLAYTON, MO (KTVI) - Marshall, “The Miracle Dog” is headed to the big screen. In 2010, the lab mix was found barely alive in a hoarder's house, with a broken leg and bite marks that covered his body.

During life saving surgery, he died three times on the operating table, but refused to give up.   His new owner wrote a book about Marshall, and now it's becoming a film about the issue of animal abuse, and bullying.

Sunday fans showed up by the thousands for a casting call for the Marshall, “The Miracle Dog” movie.

Reporter Shawndrea Thomas caught up with Marshall's owner, the casting director and those hoping to make their way onto the big screen.
