(KTVI) – Russia’s annexation of Crimea has been condemned worldwide. It seems some people in Alaska want the state to become a part of Russia, too.
A petition on the White House’s website calls on Alaskans and others to “vote” for the state to secede from the US and become a part of Russia.
The US purchased Alaska from Moscow in 1867 for $7.2 million-dollars.
The petition has garnered nearly 30,000 signatures.
