ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - A cluster of thunder storms is on the way for this evening. The thunderstorms to our southwest are moving into drier air and appear to be weakening a bit. They have a history of producing spotty hail up to half-dollar size in south central Missouri this evening. As the storms move northeast along I-44, they will arrive in the metro area after 8 pm in a scattered fashion. Another surge can be expected mid-morning on Thursday. There is a slight risk of severe thunder storms along and south of I-44 in Missouri; and along and south of I-70 in Illinois. I think the most impressive round of thunder storms will rumble across the St. Louis metro area late Thursday night and Friday morning from 4 am to 9 am with heavy downpours (1" to 2" storm total) and a few severe thunder storms as well. Friday night, skies will clear with a low of 37, and a bright and cool weekend is still in store with highs in the 60s
