City officials were puzzled as to what it could be. But people living in town had their own ideas.
Thursday, the city announced that the rumblings were probably the result of tiny earthquakes hitting the area.

Officials say it was hard to figure out what was going on because Wisconsin doesn't typically get hit with earthquakes and so there is very little earthquake monitoring equipment set up in the state.
