KANSAS CITY, KS— The driver of a tractor trailer in eastern Kansas died Tuesday morning when the load he was transported crushed the cab of his truck. Kansas City police say another vehicle pulled out in front of the tractor trailer and when the driver braked to avoid the car, the load on the trailer shifted, smashing the cab and crushing the driver.

Our sister station, FOX 4, spoke with two women who drove up on the accident before emergency crews had arrived at the scene.

“It seemed unreal, very surreal,” said Susan Keller, who along with Andrea Romero drove up on the scene shortly after it happened.

“Just to have drove by and seen that,” said Romero.

“Because he was, like she says, he was fighting to get out,” said Keller.
